Rarity is an item modifier that determines both the quality of an item, and how difficult the item is to obtain. When comparing items with the same Power, the more rare an item is, the higher stats it will generally have. The rarity of an item is defined by a data value, with values from 0 to 4 being common to legendary and from 5 up being mythical. The higher the value, the better the item. Really high values can even cause an overflow error for some item stats. The brightness of a lamp is controlled by this value, which means one could have a cheated lamp which lightens a whole biome.
