Q: When was Cube World released?

A: Cube World was released on July 2, 2013.

Q: How many people are working on this game?

A: The idea for CubeWorld started as a small hobby project in June 2011. Since May 2012, a team of two developers continue to work on the project.

Q: Which platforms are supported?

A: Currently just Windows PC. Mac and console support is planned in the future.

Q: Which games inspired CubeWorld?

A: The concept of an endless random world made up of blocks as in Minecraft is a central inspiration. Addressing issues of style, gameplay, and overall feel, inspirations include Zelda, Secret of Mana, Landstalker, Monster Hunter and many others. Central RPG elements were inspired by Diablo and World of Warcraft.

Q: Which additional features are currently being planned?


- Player customization: plans exist to add player customization with different faces, hair styles etc.
- Classes: plans exist for a mage class next and more classes in the future
- Different playable races
- Quests: A variety of different quests
- Items: Different weapons, armor and other items
- Building: Different blueprints and materials
- Weapon/Armor upgrading system
- Different pets

Q: Is there multiplayer support?

A: Yes, you can do everything in the game cooperatively with friends. Since more testing and optimization is required, no information is available concerning maximum players per server.

Q: Will there be mining/building/crafting?


- No plans exist to add mining or digging.
- House building is supported.
- Probably a crafting system will be added that allows you to craft weapons and armor from loot dropped by monsters.

Q: How was the game created?

A: Everything was programmed with C++ and DirectX (OpenGL for the first version). For the voxel sprites, the developer created his own voxel editor.

Q: Will the final game still be called "Cube World"?

A: Yes.

Q: Will it be free?

A: No.

Q: Where can I download the game?

Q: I can't login in with the launcher.

A: Make sure your Picroma account emails and password don't have a '+' (you change them in your picroma account settings). We're currently working on a solution for this.

Q: The game isn't working anymore. It exits on the starting screen.

A: Please delete cursor.plx and restart the launcher.

Q: I can't reset the resolution.

A: Stop the game, delete options.cfg and restart the game. This will reset the resolution.

Q: What's the server port for multiplayer?

A: Currently it's set 12345 and can't be changed yet.

Q: The game is slow on my computer/there is so much blue fog in the game.

A: Some computers have an Intel/on-board video card and a dedicated video card. To make sure your computer can run Cube World smoothly, right-click the Demo/Game and hover over "Run with graphics processor" if it is there to make sure you run it off a dedicated GPU if you have one. Try fullscreen mode, disable antialiasing and lower render distance in the options menu.

Q: I get the error: Could not initialize XAudio2.

A: Try to run the game as administrator.
